Dear Fellow TEMS Members
An IEEE Society is only as good as its active members. Participation is a key element to a vibrant society-life and is also the basis to attract an even larger community. As you can see from the latest news in the conference section of this issue of the LEADER, we are providing many opportunities to actively participate in TEMS-related events. And we continue to reach out to IEEE regions and other organizational units throughout the world. Keep in mind, conferences, workshops and Summits are not developed solely for the academic community, but mainly serve our colleagues from industry. So, take the opportunities of TEMS activities to exchange ideas with other colleagues from industry as well academia and develop new ideas and skills to further your career.
Another opportunity, for this exchange of ideas, includes our newly created Technical Activity Committees (TACs). Even though you may be just starting your career, this might be a brilliant way to hook up with more senior TEMS members and learn from them: they, in turn, may learn from your freshly acquired knowledge and insights. It is important that TEMS lives up up to its claim of being the place where the entire IEEE community can learn, practice and exchange ideas on management-related topics, which inevitably will touch your daily life in either managing or being managed. So, accept our invitation to actively participate in one of TEMS four major areas; conferences, education, publications, and membership. Work with your colleagues in not only furthering IEEE’s goals, but also enhancing your career opportunities.
Now, please enjoy our latest issue of LEADER and give us your suggestions so it meets your needs. We look forward to your feedback and active participation in TEMS.
